The design team faced challenges in managing employee absences and overtime, leading to inefficient resource allocation. Manual processes caused delays, and errors, and lacked real-time visibility for team leads.
As a UI designer, I partnered with the Head of the IT department and the design head for the Indian design team to redefine user flows and simplify complex scheduling logic. Collaborated with one designer and two developers to redesign the platform for the India-based design team, ensuring scalability and usability.
Dynamic Scheduler
Calendar view with color-coded absences, overtime slots (2hrs pre/post shift), and automated hour calculations. Clear percentage indicators and breakdowns (e.g., "Planned Absence = 2 (0.6%)") for quick decision-making.
40%
30%
Faster leave-application process
Reduction in scheduling errors

User Preferance
Having the option to select quarters to see and plan leave ahead of time.
Partial Absence Logs
Time slots for partial days off, reducing ambiguity in team planning.
Outcome
Adaptability (tailored for regional teams)
Technical Integration (Tableau, APIs)
The tool reduced scheduling errors by 40% and improved cross-team transparency. Managers gained real-time insights into workforce capacity, while employees reported a 30% faster leave application process.
